This MRT is situated in the southern heart of Taipei. With an abundance of shopping centers and major department stores (including SOGO, Breeze Center, Yao Ming Department store, etc) as well as three of  the Islands major universities: National Taiwan University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Taiwan Normal University. It also offers some of the Islands most expensive residential real estate. Other places of interest nearby are as follow:

 

 

Jianguo Holiday Flower Market:

This exotic flower marker is located quite near to Da’an MRT station, underneath the Jianguo South Rd overpass. This half km stretch transforms from a public car park during the weekdays to an impressive floral bazaar on the weekends.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It features over 200 stalls selling anything from potted plants and flowers to gardening tools and even agricultural materials and books. Since opening way back in 1982, this location has been a hotspot for floral enthusiasts and tourists alike. Besides offering merchandise the market also hosts exhibitions of agricultural products and workshops-open to the public. Overall, this botanist’s paradise is an ideal place not only for the floral enthusiast but also for educational and recreational activities.

 

Da’an Park

Da’an Park, also known as the “lungs of Taipei City”, is located just a block away from the MRT station. Officially opened in 1994, it is one of the biggest parks in south Taipei and offers various recreational facilities as well as the beautiful trees, grasslands, hiking trails, fountains, and a bamboo forest in the south part.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some of these facilities include, a public square, public bicycles, an open-air music stage, a children’s playground, kiosks, etc. In addition to all the benefits this park brings the public it also hosts a water conservation exhibition to provide the pubic with knowledge about the islands precious fresh water resources and to showcase water preservation systems.
