Paddle Boats on the River
If you watch Taiwanese dramas, then you have probably seen Bitan featured in some of the most well-known ones, such as "It Started With a Kiss."
That is because Bitan is a great spot for couples! The romantic vibe shouldn't discourage you, though. Families and friends can also have a blast there.
Bitan literally means “green lake” but it is so much more than just a nice scenic spot. It is found near Xindian MRT. You can go bike riding, paddle boating, and hiking. Or, if you are not looking for exercise, you can take a leisurely stroll on the riverbank and a nice meal at one of the many small outdoor restaurants which offer a variety of western and Asian food.
If you do decide to go hiking, however, you can enter the trail by the old amusement park and view temples, scenic spots and even a Lover’s point. The heart statues against the backdrop of the river are perfect for pictures.
